Disability Workforce Hub Delivers Successful Training
The Disability Workforce Hub supported 60 support workers, disability students, trainers and SSO’s to undertake professional development this week.
Delivered by Lexie Dryden from Autism SA the training gave participants practical information to assist children on the Autism spectrum. The session covered a range of topics including how to develop relationships, manage stress and anxiety, enhance social cognition and address bullying and increase self-esteem. Hub Coordinator Melissa Hunter said “The response to the training was amazing, with both sessions selling out. This was a fantastic opportunity for professional development in an area where there is a large need in the region. I was very happy to be able to coordinate the event and appreciative that Autism SA were so willing come to the Limestone Coast to share their knowledge and expertise”.
